BMWMCCWA Camp Cook Off 2023
 
Theme: Fresh is the best – “you have just returned to civilisation, after a long trip and now have access to fresh produce”
Aim: Produce a meal for yourself and a serve for Judges to sample, points gained for use of fresh ingredients, and nutritional value.
 
Rules: All cooking equipment, serving plates and provisions are to be carried on your bike, campfire may be used, or bring your own heat source.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings.
 
Where: Private property in Kalgan WA 6330 (near Albany) 87 Hunton Road, Kalgan. Farm is named "Newhay" on left as you head south.
 
When: Saturday 30th September 2023.
 
Time: Meal preparation to commence from 4:00pm, with a meal portion to be presented for judging between 6:30pm & 7:30pm.
 
Camping / Accommodation options include:
Free camping onsite – bring your own tent and gear.
Kalgan River Chalets and Caravan Park approx. 3kms away.
Several Bed and Breakfast sites in close proximity.
 
Explore the Albany area on Saturday morning, find somewhere for lunch, purchase meal ingredients and head back to Kalgan by mid-afternoon.
 
Group Rides:
Cookie will lead a Ride down on Friday 29th September 2023. Meet at Dome Kelmscott at 9:00am, for a leisurely run down through the countryside, on a mixture of bitumen and dirt roads, covering around 450km and arriving in Kalgan late afternoon.
Cookie will lead a ride home on Sunday 1st October 2023 (departure time to be confirmed) return to Perth metro area via bitumen, inland route, arriving mid-afternoon.
